Tyrol in March With Kids in Ski School: Which Family Lift Deals Are Real?

A plain-English check for parents planning a March 2027 ski week in Tyrol (Tirol), Austria, with school-age kids. Every date and euro below comes from 2026/27 official tariff pages as summarized in Snowthere's season-labeled guides. Confirm your cart before you pay.

There is no single "Tyrol family pass" for March.

Two dated deals let school-age kids ride free in March 2027: SkiWelt FamilienSkiWochen and Ski Juwel Osterspecial

Both need one parent to buy a lift pass of 3 days or more

Ski school is never on the lift pass. It is a second booking and a second bill

Deal 1: SkiWelt FamilienSkiWochen

  • When: 13 to 29 March 2027 (Ellmau keeps the family offer through 4 April 2027). There is also an early window, 5 to 18 December 2026
  • The rule: one parent buys a SkiWelt pass of at least 3 days. Their children born 2011 to 2020 ride free for the same period
  • Adult price in the family weeks: EUR 207 for 3 days, EUR 372 for 6 days, EUR 412.50 for 7 days
  • Already free all winter: kids born 2021 or later
  • Still paying: teens born 2008 to 2010

Deal 2: Ski Juwel Osterspecial

  • When: 13 March to 4 April 2027
  • The rule: at least one parent buys 3 days or more. Children up to 15 (birth year 2011 and younger) ski free
  • Bring: photo ID

Looks like a March deal, isn't one

Zillertaler Superskipass. Kids born after 1 January 2021 ride free all season with a paying adult. A child born 2012 to 2020 pays the child price in March too: EUR 179.50 for 6 days (adult EUR 399). Compare the valley's three family bases in Zillertal Arena vs Hochzillertal vs Mayrhofen.

SuperSkiCard Premium. A season card for 23 regions. Its family bonus needs Austrian family allowance or German child benefit proof at a cashier. Not a visitor-week trick.

Ischgl VIP. Under-10s ride free with a parent, but only with an Ischgl or Mathon guest card. March uses the ordinary VIP table; the spring specials start 3 April 2027. Details on Ischgl with kids.

Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis: read the calendar, not the month

  • 13 to 19 March 2027 is shoulder season
  • 20 to 29 March 2027 is high season again
  • One night in Serfaus, Fiss or Ladis gets you the cheaper guest-card table
  • Kids born 2021 or later ride free
  • Jungfamilienticket: parents with a child under 3 can share one adult-priced pass from 3 days, handing it over in the valley. If you both want to ski at the same time, you need two tickets

Ski school is a separate booking

The lift deal does not include lessons. Book the school first, then buy the lift window.

  • SMT Mayrhofen: kids' groups from age 4, beginners start Sunday or Monday, four hours a day. Lift tickets are not in the course price
  • Snowsports Mayrhofen: kids' groups from age 5, beginners start Sunday or Monday
  • Across 141 resorts with a verified ski-school starting age, 86 start at 3, 33 at 4, and 12 as young as 2

Birth year beats age in Austria

Austrian lift tables use the year printed on the ID, not your child's age on Saturday.

  • A child born in December 2020 pays the child price
  • A cousin born in January 2021, a few weeks younger, rides free
  • Several Austrian passes require photo ID or a photo for every discounted child ticket. Pack one per child

"March is quiet" is not a calendar

  • 1 to 8 March 2027 still overlaps French Zone B winter holidays (20 February to 8 March) and Hamburg's spring break (1 to 12 March)
  • Mid-March is the gap after those and before most Easter weeks
  • From 22 March 2027 Bavaria and North Rhine-Westphalia Easter holidays begin
